For a Better Consideration of Siblings of People with Severe Mental Illness

<br/><br/> Due to the evolution of mental health care, family members are increasingly requested to support their ill relative. Based on a survey conducted in 2003 among 600 siblings of people with severe mental illness, this article assesses the significant impacts of these disorders on siblings. In a preventive perspective, the authors propose a clinical approach aimed at developing a better understanding of the siblings’ position.
