The growing environmental crisis poses challenges across various sectors; however, it is increasingly impacting higher education and academic research in particular. The article investigates these effects, drawing from the experiences of historians who have modified their professional practices in various ways, notably through contact with the Atelier d’écologie politique (Atécopol), a Toulouse-based scientific collective dedicated to this issue. The complexity and systemic nature of this challenge makes it impossible to offer simple solutions, but this article proposes avenues and levers for change in both teaching and research, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary approaches and collective commitment.
