Cette réussite doit beaucoup aux brevets d’Eugène Freyssinet, exploités et développés par la STUP-Freyssinet International. Portée de 1943 à 1962 par les inventions majeures d’E. Freyssinet, la société a connu, entre 1963 et 1981, une spectaculaire percée internationale, puis, après une crise profonde (1981-1987), retrouvé la voie du leadership mondial. Suite à sa fusion avec Soletanche-Bachy, elle constitue aujourd’hui l’un des atouts majeurs du groupe Vinci; The origins of a global vocation: the prestressed. From STUP to Freyssinet International (1943-2000)The French contractors of civil engineering precociously acquired a leadership regarding reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete in front of a strong German and Swiss competition in particular. This success owes a lot to Eugène Freyssinet’s patents, exploited and developed by International STUP-Freyssinet. Carried from 1943 till 1962 by the major inventions of E. Freyssinet, the company experienced a spectacular international breakthrough between 1963 and 1981, then, after a deep crisis (1981-1987), it found the way to world leadership. Following its merger with Soletanche-Bachy, the new entity constitutes one of the main advantages of the Vinci group today
