Le succès semble venir de certaines spécificités : la création de valeurs économiques et sociales était en cohérence avec les valeurs du territoire, l’apprentissage était collectif et inductif et non basé sur un modèle prédéfini et enfin le fort engagement communautaire a induit des transformations structurantes et reproductibles; When community engagement fosters the success of a social innovation projectIn this article, we reflect upon experiences from a social innovation project implemented in a very poor region on the Bolivian border with Brazil. We believe that certain characteristics were key to the project’s success: the creation of economic and social values was consistent with the values of the territory; learning was collective and inductive rather than based on the implementation of a pre-conceived model; and the strong community engagement paved the way for structural and replicable transformations. An approach to fostering community engagement is proposed
