Socio-spatial analysis of religious traditionalism in a Parisian suburbThis paper considers an observation made by a number of residents of Algerian origin in a Parisian suburb that the area has become increasingly Muslim. This suggestion counters recent national quantitative data that propose a decrease in visible expressions of Muslimness in the French public sphere. Drawing on ethnographic fieldwork in the suburb of Petit-Nanterre, this paper argues that transnationally-informed manifestations of tradition and the bled gain significance because of the spatial and the socio-economic conditions of the banlieue; Dieser Artikel bezieht sich auf eine Beobachtung, die mehrere Bewohner algerischer Herkunft in einem Paris Vorort gemacht haben. Für sie wird ihr Wohnort immer muslimischer. Dieser Gedanke widerspricht den jüngsten quantitativen Daten, die von einer Abnahme der sichtbaren islamischen Zeichen in der öffentlichen Sphäre Frankreichs ausgehen. Basierend auf einer ethnographischen Feldstudie in Petit-Nanterre, zeigt dieser Artikel auf, dass die transnationalen Äußerungen von Tradition und dem Bled aufgrund der räumlichen und sozio-ökonomischen Konditionen der Banlieue an Bedeutung gewinnen
