<br/><br/> est un texte de Lacan de 1958 et publié en 1961. Il se déploie entre une première proposition : le psychanalyste dirige la cure, mais non le patient, et une seconde : c’est le désir inconscient qui dirige le traitement. Cet axe reste celui de toute analyse. On a souvent opposé la visée de la cure chez Freud et chez Lacan, or cette contradiction n’est qu’apparente, c’est ce que cet article entend soutenir.  “The Direction of the Treatment an the Principles of Its Power” is a paper red by Lacan in 1958, and published in 1961. It unfolds between a first proposition : “a psychoanalyst directs the treatment [...] he must not direct the patient “, and a second one : the unconscious desire directs the treatment. This direction is always at work in each analysis. The goal of the treatment according to Freud is not so different to Lacan, that is what this paper will try to show.
