Cette perspective permet d?éclairer une configuration intellectuelle à l'époque tout à fait neuve, mais qui ne semble pas avoir réussi à s?imposer durablement. L?enquête comme relation à l'altérité, la pluralité culturelle, l'historicité des cultures et la diversité des formes de l'individuation humaine, en sont les éléments principaux; This article brings out the convergence between the theory of experience developed by the American pragmatist philosopher John Dewey and the cultural anthropology of his time, especially the work of Franz Boas and Bronislaw Malinowski. Adopting this vantage point sheds light on a completely new intellectual configuration at the time, which apparently was unable to establish itself in a lasting way. Its main features were the survey as a relationship with otherness, cultural plurality, the historicity of cultures and the variety of forms of human individuation
