This article offers a synthetic presentation of the career of Jean Claude Rouchy, an analyst of the subject, groups and institutions, as well as a pioneer in the fields of psychosociology and clinical work with intersubjective ensembles and interculturality, who always associated clinical investment and research, associative commitment and editorial activities.In the second part, the author identifies a number of essential methodological concepts and principles that we owe to him. He discusses in particular the concepts of group affiliation and incorporated object, and presents the settings of intervention and analysis of institutions established by J.C. Rouchy.The author concludes by exploring the concept of setting and outlines a number of extensions opened up by his work.
