N2  - Les 7 000 petites îles de l’océan Indien regroupées en une vingtaine d’unités ont participé activement depuis l’Antiquité à des systèmes commerciaux animés par les Grecs, les Arabes, les peuples Swahili et les Européens. Depuis 1945 jusqu’à la chute du mur de Berlin (1989), l’URSS a ressayé de s’imposer dans un port en mer chaude dans une optique mackindérienne d’occupation du globe.
