29

The article focuses on family psychotherapy for adolescents who have recently immigrated after suffering from multiple war-related traumata. It shows that consultation with the family can provide a path towards effective care. Through these clinical cases, the issue of the bonds between siblings is addressed as they traverse a period of reconstruction of the fraught past, and during adolescence where confrontation with irruption of reality and with the symbolic law of the father and identity-seeking can exacerbate matters. Learning difficulties, identity related issues and multiple symptoms within the family situation are studied.
