L’innovation sociale est conçue comme un changement de codification des rapports sociaux qui valide de nouveaux principes de coordination produits par des acteurs réflexifs. Cette grille est utilisée pour interpréter la transformation des rapports de production et de genre impulsée par des initiatives d’économie solidaire dans le cas de la ville d’El Alto, en Bolivie. Nous évaluons ainsi la portée de deux types d’innovation : l’affirmation d’un principe original de réciprocité au sein du mode de production et d’un principe d’égalité d’accès aux sphères publiques et productives.Codes JEL : B5, D02, O1, P4, Z13; Social innovation through solidarity economy in Bolivia: a process of democratization of the conventions of production and genderThis article proposes a conceptual framework of social innovation based on theories of institutional change and applied to Latin-American solidarity economy. Social innovation is conceived as a change in the codification of social relations that validates new principles of coordination produced by reflexive actors. This framework is used for interpreting two transformations driven by solidarity economy initiatives in the case of the city of El Alto, in Bolivia: the transformation of the relations of production and of gender relations.
