From the Figuration of the Family Link to History - 2005.

Listening to the associative family chain implies watching carefully the non-verbal aspects of the family communication. The aspects are detected from what is called spatial configurations, repetitive from one session to the next, and which allow to see, listen and feel experience more than understand. This kind of display in the spatial frame of the session is a transference figuration of family links. This figuration allows the therapists to understand psychic materials which may not be symbolized in the family history but which are active through their psychic effects on the family members (and on the therapists during the session).
