The Therapeutic Couple in Co-therapy: The Work of Intertransference

<br/><br/> The author, reviewing the literature on the theme of therapeutic couple and of co-therapy, focalizes his attention on the theoretical-clinical notion of inter-transference work. By referring to a brief clinical example the aim is to lead the attention on the specificity of the intersubjective dynamics inside the couple in treatment as well as inside the therapeutic couple. More specifically, the hypothesis is that the inter-transference work, carried on in the post-session by the analysts can help the couple in therapy to overcome that dimension of death repetition for which has formulated its help request, to open itself to possible developmental changes. In this sense, what is felt inside the inter-transference link can be read as an effect of the deposal of row psychic material that the couple transfers in. So the inter-transference link will be the place of deposal and afterwards apparatus of transformation and symbolization of this row psychic material.
