N2  - Contrairement à la lecture couramment donnée de l’œuvre de Clausewitz, le politique se trouve, selon Girard, dans l’incapacité de contenir l’accroissement mimétique de la violence. Il en résulte que la « guerre réelle » peut échapper au cadre censé la contenir ou la freiner pour se rapprocher tendanciellement du modèle de « guerre absolue » qui perd alors son caractère purement théorique de schème. Cet article interroge cette thèse tant à partir de la menace nucléaire que du terrorisme; Unlike most of Clausewitz’s work readings, Girard argues that politics is unable to contain the mimetic increase in violence. As a result, « real war » can escape the framework that is supposed to contain it or slow it down and tend to get close to the model of « absolute war », which then loses its purely theoretical character as a pattern. This article questions this thesis from the point of view of both the nuclear threat and terrorism
