N2  - The aim of the article is to study the transformation of the social recruitment of private colleges under contract. Over the period 2017-2022, the gentrification of these private colleges is significant and concomitant with a reduction in their inter- and intrainstitutional social mix. The gentrification of private colleges, which has been observable since the early 2000s, helps explain the average academic performance of French students in PISA assessments and the high inequality of success rates according to social origin; L’objet de l’article est d’étudier la transformation du recrutement social des collèges privés sous contrat. Sur la période 2017-2022, l’embourgeoisement de ces collèges privés est sensible et concomitant d’une réduction de leur mixité sociale inter et intra-établissements. L’embourgeoisement des collèges privés, observable depuis le début des années 2000, contribue à expliquer les performances scolaires moyennes des élèves français aux évaluations PISA et la forte inégalité de réussite selon l’origine sociale
