N2  - L’Egypte s’apprête à adopter un nouveau code du travail qui, en autorisant les licenciements collectifs, va mettre fin à un des héritages de la période nassérienne, la garantie d’emploi dans le secteur public. Bien qu’accompagnant les privatisations d’entreprises publiques inscrites dans le programme d’ajustement structurel, cette réforme a un objectif plus large, celui de transformer les relations professionnelles dans le pays afin de l’adapter au contexte de libéralisation des marchés du travail dans le monde; Egypt is getting ready to adopt a new labour code which, by authorising mass redundancies, will put an end to one of the legacies of the Nasser regime, secure employment in the public sector. Although it accompanies the privatisation of public enterprises which is part of the structural adjustment plan, this reform has a broader aim of transforming the country’s industrial relations to bring them into line with the liberalisation of labour markets throughout the world
