N2  - Le film d’Arnaud Despleschin, Jimmy P., Psychothérapie d’un indien des Plaines (2013) peut se lire à plusieurs niveaux. Cette adaptation de Psychothérapie d’un indien des Plaines de Georges Devereux peut d’abord être vue comme un hommage au fondateur de l’ethnopsychiatrie, auquel le cinéaste avait déjà fait quelques allusions antérieurement. Mais la cure de James Picard, indien de la société Blackfoot et vétéran de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, nous permet surtout de réfléchir à la fonction du nom propre, à la difficulté de porter celui-ci, ou à la nécessité de le cacher; Arnaud Desplechin’s movie, Jimmy P., Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian (2013) can be read on several levels. This adaptation of Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian by Georges Devereux can first be seen a homage to the founder of ethnopsychiatry, to whom the filmmaker had already made some allusions previously. But the treatment of James Picard, an Indian from the Blackfoot Community and veteran of the Second World War, allows us to mostly reflect on the function of one’s name, the difficulty of carrying it, or the necessity to hide it
