Quelle place un adolescent atteint d’une maladie létale peut-il trouver dans ce vaste programme de français au collège, lui qui est manifestement centré sur la place qu’il voudrait trouver dans le vaste programme de la vie ? « Objectif : Écrire » ou « Objectif : Guérir et Vivre » ? Et si les deux étaient complémentaires ? Mais écrire ne va pas de soi… surtout quand on a un cancer… Cet article met en lumière un projet pédagogique pour tenter d’expliquer comment traiter pédagogiquement et didactiquement la rencontre avec la souffrance et comment aborder « l’expression de soi », plus particulièrement une séquence sur l’autobiographie, dans le programme de 3e en français, avec des élèves en situation de handicap. Même si écrire devient alors en soi un problème, « À ta plume », atelier d’écriture par blog, invite depuis quelques mois des élèves de troisième malades ou non à se risquer dans l’écriture, à risquer des mots, leurs mots voire leurs maux… L’aventure n’a pas été simple; Language tools, syntax, lexicon, direct object, meeting, metaphor: the list is long, and it does not always rhyme with cancer, illness, or hospital What place do adolescents with a lethal illness have in the overwhelming curriculum of lower secondary level French? And how do they find this while their focus is more on finding their place in life? Is the goal to write or to be cured and live? What if the two are complementary? The act of writing is not self-evident… especially for those afflicted with cancer The article shines a light on a pedagogical project that attempts to explain how to treat, from a pedagogical and dialectic standpoint, the experience of pain and how to begin to express oneself, more specifically, via a sequence on autobiography, in troisième-level (ages 14-15) French courses, with disabled pupils Even if the act of writing itself becomes a problem, over the past few months, “À ta plume”, a writing workshop via blog, has been inviting troisième-level pupils, ill and otherwise, to try their hand at writing, to risk expressing themselves through words, and use their use to express their suffering… The task was not an easy one
