À qui appartient l'objet de recherche ? Penser l'implication du chercheur dans son objet : le handicap (surdité)

<br/><br/> RésuméLors d’une recherche psychosociologique, l’auteur analyse son implication : son thème d’investigation est « la parentalité parent entendant/enfant sourd » et elle est, elle-même, mère entendante d’un enfant sourd ; sa position singulière redéfinissant les clivages classiques : expert/profane, objectif/subjectif, observateur/objet observé, rationalité explicative/témoignage de l’expérience vécue. En regard de la thématique de la séparation/rencontre telle qu’elle apparaît dans la méthodologie de recherche et dans le champ du handicap, elle analyse les réactions du milieu de la recherche par rapport à sa situation de « l’entre-deux » (interdiction vs incitation à faire de la recherche sur la parentalité en situation de handicap), de même que ses propres réponses (résistance ou accord) à ces réactions ; ces interactions faisant partie intégrante de son objet de recherche. Elle pose la question du rapport entre l’implication du chercheur, sa neutralité et son engagement militant dans le cadre de la recherche en sciences humaines et sociales.  As she was working on a psycho-sociological research project, the author analyzed her own implication. The subject she was investigating was « parenthood » and more specifically the relationship between a hearing parent and a deaf child. Being herself, the hearing parent of a deaf child, she understood her singular position as a redefinition of the traditional division between : expert/lay, objective/subjective, observer subject/observed object, rationality/true-life experiences.Regarding the dynamics between separation and encounter such as it appears in research methodology and in the field of handicap, she analyzed the reactions found among researchers to her situation as an « in-between » : prohibition vs. incitement to do research in « parenthood and handicap ». She also studied her own response (opposition or agreement) to these reactions and she considered these interactions as an integral part of her research project. She reflects about the relationship between the implication of a researcher, his/her neutrality and his/her active commitment to work within the context of the social and behavioural sciences.
