<br/><br/> La comparaison du quatrième évangile avec des commentaires rabbiniques sur Moïse et la manne (comme le midrash Exode Rabba, la Mekhilta de-Rabbi Ishmael et celle de-Rabbi Shimon ben Yohaï) montre un arrière-fond propre à faire ressortir une des pointes du texte johannique : Moïse lui-même rend témoignage à Jésus (Jn 5,46-47) et conduit à croire à l’œuvre de Dieu en celui que le Père a envoyé (Jn 6,29).
