N2  - Vaste pays peu peuplé, mais doté de ressources minières conséquentes, la Mongolie a réussi sans grand cahot sa transition démocratique. Sa position enclavée entre les deux géants russe et chinois l’incite à rechercher une posture diplomatique originale, un véritable modèle stratégique visant à préserver sa souveraineté. Le pays est donc intéressé par toutes les coopérations confortant cette stratégie, et la France pourrait avoir là une chance d’influence et de présence renouvelée. politique étrangère; Mongolia is a large country, thinly inhabited, endowed with large mineral resources. It has succeeded rather smoothly a democratic transition. Surrounded by two giants, Russia and China, it adopted an original position in diplomatic matters; its strategy represents a model for countries aiming to preserve their sovereignty. As Mongolia is looking for any possible co-operation consistent with its strategy, there may be a chance for France to enhance its influence in that country
