<br/><br/> Considéré par la communauté internationale comme un laboratoire de la résolution des conflits, le Burundi fait l’objet d’intenses efforts diplomatiques. La signature des accords d’Arusha, obtenue aux forceps par le médiateur Mandela, peut-elle mener à la paix et à la stabilité ? Rien n’est moins sûr. Inscrivant la question burundaise dans l’écheveau des conflits régionaux, cet article analyse la position des divers acteurs et les obstacles à la pacification. Il montre notamment que les solutions proposées reposent sur des interprétations partiellement erronées de la crise burundaise. But will the Arusha Accords bring about peace and stability? Nothing is certain since the Accords ignore the most significant issues. By situating the Burundian case in the context of regional conflicts, the author analyzes the positions of diverse actors and the obstacles to peace, demonstrating that proposed solutions are based on flawed interpretations of the crisis in Burundi.
