<br/><br/> RésuméDans la riche et fertile France du Nord, l’Artois et le Cambrésis excédentaires en grains approvisionnent les provinces déficitaires de la Flandre et du Hainaut, tout en expédiant aussi une partie de leur récolte vers d’autres régions du royaume ou à l’étranger. Ces transferts de blé d’une zone à une autre sont assurés par un groupe hétérogène de marchands, du grand négociant qui brasse des volumes parfois considérables et travaille à l’échelle du royaume et même de l’Europe, au blatier qui rayonne sur des provinces voisines et au regrattier dont l’activité doit (ou devrait) se limiter à un unique marché. Tous ces professionnels ou semi-professionnels sont gens suspects aux yeux de tous, qu’ils travaillent seuls ou en société, avec magasins ou sans ; tout est dans l’art et la manière d’acheter ! The transfer of wheat from one region to the next is carried out by a heterogeneous group of merchants, ranging from the major merchant sometimes managing huge sale volumes and working on a kingdom – or even Europe – wide scale, to the blatier whose area of activity spreads only on neighbouring provinces, and the regrattier whose activity must (or ought to) be restricted to a unique market. All these professionals or semiprofessionals look suspicious to all, whether they work alone or in company, out of a store or not ; it all depends of how you deal !
