Ceux-ci disposent de Sous-marins nucléaires d’attaque qui assurent une mission dissuasive face à la marine chinoise. D’où le choix de l’Australie de se doter de SNA dans le cadre de l’alliance AUKUS.  Taiwan and the Taiwan Strait are the focus of the strategic divergence between China and the breakaway island supported by the United States. The US has SSNs which conduct a deterrent mission against the Chinese Navy, hence the Australian decision to acquire SSNs in the framework of the AUKUS alliance.
