<br/><br/> Résumé Lamartine offre un cas exemplaire en ce qu’il a tenté d’incarner l’intrication problématique de la poésie et de la politique. Or, tenter d’allier ces deux images du poète et de l’homme d’État, c’est donner l’impression d’une double trahison. Que peut réellement la parole poétique en politique ? La politique telle que la conçoit un poète romantique n’est-elle que la continuation du lyrisme sous d’autres formes ?  Lamartine’s is an exemplary case in that he attempted to embody the problematical combination of poetry and politics. However, in trying to combine the image of the poet and that of the statesman one may give the impression of betraying both. What can the poetic word actually achieve in politics ? Is politics such as a romantic poet may conceive of it a mere extension of lyricism by other means ?
