Plusieurs éléments laissent craindre un potentiel nivellement par le bas des politiques européennes à la suite du retrait britannique. Mais il apparaît aussi pertinent de retourner la question en s’interrogeant sur les effets que le Pacte vert aura sur l’agenda environnemental du Royaume-Uni. L’analyse permet alors de mettre en évidence les effets à long terme de l’ambition environnementale européenne, qui vont bien au-delà des frontières de l’Union; What are the consequences of Brexit, in terms of the European environmental agenda that is embodied in the European Green Deal? There are several reasons to fear a potential race to the bottom in European policies, following the British withdrawal. But it is also worth turning the question on its head and asking what effect the Green Deal will have on the UK’s environmental agenda. Such an analysis allows highlighting of the long-term effects of European environmental ambition, which extend far beyond the borders of the Union
