La perestroïka comme retraite et comme offensive - 1989.

87

Gorbatchev is confronted with the general crisis of the "communist" mode1 dating back to the 1920s and 1930s. Perestroika is a withdrawal from Stalinism in order to reach different ends. A doubtful battle since the new society has not yet been given genuine legal foundations. Perestroika is also the result of positive developments that can be traced in all eastern countries, in Solidarnosc and in the new "splitting tendency" within communist parties. Being internationally-oriented, the "new thinking" paves the way for a post-nuclear stage in the history of mankind and in the struggle for socialism.
