<br/><br/> The author reconstructs the intense activity deployed since 1975 by the Italian Socialist party review Mondoperaio. And uninterrupted serie of debates on Marx, Gramsci, Togliatti, etc. comes to the conclusion that Marxism is in crisis because it contradicts the essence of modernity. The new PSI adopts the ideology of neo-liberal modernisation. The author maintains that the crisis of Marxism is only an aspect of the crisis of modernity and that a neo liberalism cannot permit the left to overcome it.
