<br/><br/> Partant du constat que les tribunaux d’amirauté n’ont guère retenu l’attention des historiens modernistes, cet article vise à proposer un certain nombre de pistes d’analyse à partir d’un cas particulier : les affaires de pêche portées devant le tribunal d’amirauté de Dieppe au xviiie siècle. Après une présentation du fonctionnement et des archives produites par cette juridiction des mers et des rivages, un second temps est consacré à dresser un bilan historiographique sur la question des conflits portuaires, à la croisée de l’histoire de la justice et de l’histoire des sociétés littorales. Dans une dernière partie sont proposées des pistes et des hypothèses de recherche dessinant les contours d’une enquête en cours sur le rapport des pêcheurs au droit et à la justice.  Fishermen and the Dieppe Admiralty court (18th century) : sources, historiography, hypothesesEarly modern historians have neglected admiralty courts and this article proposes several research themes taken from a study concerning cases brought before the Dieppe court by fishermen in the 18th century. The institution which had jurisdiction over the sea and the local shoreline and the archives it generated are described. The second part looks at the historiography of conflict in ports at the intersection of legal history and that of shoreline communities. Finally, research hypotheses are presented on the relations of fishermen to the law and the judicial system.
