<br/><br/> Partant de son expérience préfectorale l’auteur envisage la production de l’ordre public sous trois aspects : l’adaptation aux spécificités locales ; l’anticipation, incluant notamment le renseignement, la prévention de la délinquance et l’organisation spécifique aux grands événements ; le recours à la force publique, en particulier dans le cas des manifestations, des émeutes et des prises d’otages. Il conclut en montrant que les différentes autorités concernées s’articulent selon un modèle français, qui protège les libertés sous le contrôle du juge administratif.  Using his experience as a préfet, the author considers the production of public order under three aspects: adaptation to local specificities; anticipation, including intelligence, crime prevention and more specifically organization of important events; law enforcement, in particular where demonstrations, riots and hostage-taking are concerned. He concludes by showing that the various authorities concerned organize themselves following the French pattern which protects freedoms under the supervision of the administrative courts.
