<br/><br/> La Grande Guerre ouvre une période de difficultés pour le Musée social qui voit ses ressources diminuer. Avec le retour à la paix et bientôt un nouveau président, Georges Risler, le Musée social prend ses distances avec le mouvement mutualiste mais continue d’être très proche du mouvement coopératif, surtout sa branche de la production. Il est également très actif dans le domaine de l’urbanisme et du logement.  History of the Social Museum from the First World War to the Popular Front periodThe First World War opened a period of difficulties for the Social Museum accompanied by a loss of revenue. With the return to peace and soon after the arrival of a new president, Georges Risler, the Social Museum distanced itself from the mutualist movement, but continued to be close to the cooperative movement particularly its industrial branch. It was also very active in the field of urbanism and housing.
