N2  - L’Islam, contrairement aux autres monothéismes a valorisé la sexualité à la condition qu’elle s’exerce dans le cadre légal du mariage. A la suite de quoi toute une littérature s’est fait l’échos des plaisirs de la chair et certains théologiens y ont vu un avantgoût du Paradis. Cette attitude aussi favorable à la sexualité s’est déployée dans un ensemble culturel très largement patriarcal donnant la prééminence à la position masculine qui demeure inquiète face au mystère de la féminité; The Prescription of Sexuality in Islam. Islam, unlike the other monotheistic religions, promotes sexuality as long as it is exercised within the legal framework of marriage. This has given rise to whole host of works exploring the pleasures of the flesh, with some theologians seeing sex as a foretaste of paradise. This favourable attitude to sexuality unfolds within a predominantly patriarchal cultural framework, in which men remain in uneasy position before the mystery of femininity
