<br/><br/> Partant de l’idée que toute relation d’aide est rendue possible par le fait que l’aidant trouve en l’aidé un prolongement de son propre narcissisme, ce texte étudie à partir de la notion de détresse (désaide ou Hilflosichkeit) ce qui advient lorsque l’aidant est un parent vis-à-vis d’un enfant, un enfant vis-à-vis d’un parent âgé ou quand, dans un couple, l’un des deux entre dans une maladie incurable.  Based on the idea that any support relationship is made possible by the fact that the carer providing the support sees an extension of their own narcissism in the person being supported, this text explores the notion of distress (helplessness or Hilflosichkeit) as a means of examining what happens when the caregiver is a parent supporting a child, or a child supporting an elderly parent or, in a couple, when one partner is suffering from an incurable form of illness.
