RésuméDavid Graeber, dont la mort subite nous laisse démunis et un peu sans voix, a été un magnifique compagnon de route du MAUSS. Nous étions entrés en contact avec lui suite à ce texte paru, il y a presque vingt ans, le 21 août 2001, dans la revue en ligne In these times, sous le titre « Give it away », et était annoncé en couverture avec en gros titre « The new maussketeers ».

In this paper, written as a tribute to MAUSS and the new “maussquetaires”, David Graeber situates the movement within the intellectual history of France since the 1980s and discusses the political implications of the anti-utilitarian alternative that is emerging, particularly in the wake of Mauss’s socialism and its relationship to Marx and Marxism.
