RésuméUne fouille de grande ampleur a permis d’étudier plusieurs lieux funéraires du Haut Empire. Il a été possible, au-delà de l’information archéologique classique, de mieux cerner la configuration spatiale et le fonctionnement des lieux dédiés aux morts, ainsi que le traitement réservé aux défunts. À l’issue de la confrontation des données, un nouveau regard peut être posé sur la complexité des gestuelles funéraires au cours des premiers siècles de notre ère en milieu rural.

Burying Areas in the « Marais of Dourges » Dourges (Pas-de-Calais) (site LA1)An excavation campaign covering a wide area led to the survey of several Higher-Empire burial areas. It was thus possible to go further than the gathering of conventional archaeological data and to understand better the spatial configuration and the mode of operation of the areas dedicated to the dead, as well as the treatment provided for the deceased. With all these data assessed, a new insight can be gained into the complexity of the funerary practices that characterized the first centuries of our era in a rural environment.
