In this writing, Heymeric defends a position different from that which he previously advocated concerning the relationship between the Pope and the General Council once he argued in favour of the supremacy of the Council. In this letter he expresses a balanced position in favour of the primacy of the pope. This treatise extremely difficult to understand, not only contributes to a better understanding of the thinking of the Lovanian professor, but also enriches the history of the councils, because Heymeric proposes in this letter the convocation of a new council.Abrégé : Der hier edierte Text ist ein in der Hs. Uppsala C 610 überlieferter Brief, den Heymericus de Capo (1395-1460) am 20. Juni 1446 an Papst Eugen IV. gerichtet hat. Darin vertritt Heymericus im Gegensatz zu seinen früheren Stellungnahmen zum Verhältnis von Papst und Generalkonzil, wo er den Primat des Konzils verteidigte, eine ausgewogene Argumentation zugunsten der päpstlichen Superiorität. Der aussergewöhnlich schwer verständliche Brieftrakat ist nicht allein für eine vollständigere Kenntnis des Denkens des Löwener Professors von Interesse, sondern bereichert die Konzilsgeschichte, da Heymericus die Einberufung eines neuen Konzils vorschlägt.
