Ce recueil d’hommages à Germaine Leman-Delerive a généré un travail collectif lié à la céramique de la fin du premier et début du second Âge du Fer (Hallstatt D – LT A1) dans les départements du Nord, du Pas-de-Calais et de la Somme. Le but est de proposer un premier bilan documentaire sur la typochronologie des mobiliers domestiques. L’étude comparative d’ensembles, appuyée par un outil de sériation et les indications fournies par les mobiliers associés et/ou les datations radiocarbones, permet de proposer une première trame d’évolution en quatre étapes, mises en correspondance de manière encore imprécise avec la fin du Hallstatt ancien et/ou le début du Hallstatt moyen (Hallstatt C2/D1), le Hallstatt moyen, voire le début du Hallstatt final (Ha D1/2), le Hallstatt final jusqu’à la transition avec La Tène ancienne (Hallstatt D2-D3) et enfin le début de La Tène ancienne (La Tène A1). Le renouvellement du répertoire est progressif, sans rupture significative, avec un registre morphologique fortement marqué par la carène depuis le début du Hallstatt D. L’appréhension des faciès régionaux se heurte aux vides documentaires et au peu d’information disponible pour la partie littorale de la zone d’étude. Des pistes de réflexion et un scénario évolutif sont toutefois dégagés. L’existence de deux faciès initiaux de part et d’autre de la vallée de l’Escaut tend à s’atténuer au cours du Hallstatt final, avec l’émergence d’un faciès régional « picard », qui va lui-même converger vers les répertoires du domaine Aisne-Marne de la fin du Hallstatt final, jusqu’à s’y confondre davantage au début de La Tène ancienne.

From Hallstatt Pottery to Latenian Pottery in Northern France. A First Typological, Chronological and Cultural Analysis of the Pottery Repertories Ranging from Hallstatt D to La Tène A 1 (7th-5th centuries B.C.)Preparing this collection of tributes to Germaine Leman-Delerive has given a new impetus to a collective research initiative connected to the pottery finds dating back to the late first and early second Iron Age (Hallstatt D – LT A1) in the departments of the Nord, Pas-de-Calais and Somme. The aim is to offer a first documentary assessment on the typo-chronology of domestic ceramic suites. The comparative study of complete sets, relying on a seriation tool and on the indications presented by the associated furnishing and/or radiocarbon dating, makes it possible to propose an evolutionary framework in four stages. Although still rather imprecise in their correspondence with standard horizons they are along the following lines : the end of Ancient Hallstatt and/or the beginning of Mid-Hallstatt (Hallstatt C2/D1), Mid-Hallstatt, possibly even the early Late Hallstatt (Ha D1/2), Late Hallstatt down to the transition with the Ancient La Tène (Hallstatt D2-D3) and finally the early Ancient La Tène (La Tène A1). The renewal of the repertoire is progressive and does not show any significant break, with a morphological register strongly marked by the carinated shape since the early Hallstatt D. Attaining a clear view of the regional styles is made particularly difficult by an absence of firmly documented information and by inadequate knowledge regarding the part of the study area bordering the sea. Reflection on the data to hand is beneficial and an evolutionary scenario can nonetheless be sketched out. The existence of two initial styles on each side of the Escault valley tends to become less and less marked through the Late Hallstatt era, with the emergence of a ‘Picard’ regional style, and eventually converge with the repertories of the final Late Hallstatt Aisne-Marne area, to become ever less identifiable at the beginning of Ancient La Tène.
