Le Coetus Internationalis Patrum, dirigé par Mgr Marcel Lefebvre, fut le principal groupe d’opposants au sein du concile Vatican II (1962-1965). Dans cet article, l’auteur présente tout d’abord l’histoire de ce mouvement tout au long des sessions et intersessions du Concile, en tâchant de mettre en évidence son organisation et son activité, ainsi que l’évolution de ses stratégies. Il analyse ensuite l’impact du groupe sur les documents promulgués par Vatican II. En conclusion, au u de l’histoire du catholicisme postconciliaire, il tâche de répondre à la question suivante : le Coetus Internationalis Patrum se trouve t-il à l’origine d’une dissidence ?

Under the leadership of Msgr. Marcel Lefebvre, the Coetus Internationalis Patrum constituted the principal opposition group active during the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965). The forelying contribution will offer a concise presentation of this group’s itinerary all along the council's sessions and intersessions. In doing so, the author attempts to illustrate the organisational structure and activities of the said group, as well as the evolution of its strategies. Next, the group's impact on the documents promulgated by the council will be presented. By means of conclusion, in the light of the history postconciliar catholicism, the author will formulate an answer to the question: did the Coetus Internationalis Patrum constitute the origin of ecclesial dissidence?
