La plus longue des trois, la question 7, a également été attribuée à Richard FitzRalph. Après avoir examiné les arguments en faveur de l’attribution à Bradwardine, l’article démontre comment le futur archevêque de Cantorbéry commençait seulement à réagir aux tendances pélagiennes dont il avait été témoin l’année précédente.

This article offers a critical edition of questions 7-9 of Thomas Bradwardine’s Lectura on the Sentences (Oxford, 1332-1333), his main treatment of grace and merit before the publication of his monumental De causa Dei in 1344. The longest of the three, question 7, has also been attributed to Richard FitzRalph. After reviewing the evidence for Bradwardine’s authorship, the paper shows how the future archbishop of Canterbury was only beginning to react to the Pelagian tendencies he had witnessed the previous year.
