Le service de santé des armées est chargé d’assurer un soutien adapté en particulier au profit des militaires engagés sur des théâtres opérationnels. Concernant la prise en charge des troubles psychiques post-traumatiques le service de santé des armées a mis en place toute une organisation de soin au plus près de l’événement traumatisant jusqu’à la réhabilitation du blessé psychique en coordination avec les armées. Le soignant militaire doit, dans sa pratique, prendre en considération le patient dans la singularité de sa subjectivité, le milieu dans lequel il travaille, et les liens qu’entretient le militaire souffrant avec ses groupes d’appartenance. Si un événement traumatisant sévère bouleverse l’intimité psychique du Sujet, il interroge aussi le militaire sur la place de l’institution dans son équilibre psychique.

The French military health service is responsible for providing suitable support for military personnel serving in operational theatres. Concerning care provided for PTSD, the health service has set up a service which is immediately involved, from the moment of the traumatic event itself through to the rehabilitation of the psychologically wounded individual, in close coordination with the forces concerned. The military carer must, within the framework of clinical practice, consider the patient from the vantage point of the singularity of their subjectivity, the environment in which they work and their relationships with other groups to which they belong. If a severely traumatic event upsets the Subject’s psychic intimacy, the carer will also question the individual on the role of the military institution as part of their psychic balance.
