Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The paper explores the process by which social actors connected with the Jewish orthodox movement Habad Lubavitch of Buenos Aires identify themselves with the category of Lubavitch. Instead of asking about the characteristics of the Lubavitch identity, it is analyzed how social actors dwell the habadian space of identification. By dwelling this space the actors engage in the experience of multidimensional identification which is based on three dimensions of identification: organizational, communitarian-cultural and spiritual. The tensions that arise between the rationalities of each dimension are managed through the practices of the actors. One of the purposes of the article rests on discussing the potentialities of the concepts of nucleus and peripheries. To this aim the author focuses on the practices of the actors and the nuclearized and peripheralized movements produced by them. Finally, the difficulty in demarcating clear frontiers both inside Habad and with the external is analyzed.
