Le ravissement suscité par le voir et l’ ôphthè trouve son fondement dans le Ressuscité luimême apparaissant au matin de Pâques. À partir de l’ ôphthè, Balthasar opère le dépassement sensoriel du voir par le fait qu’en apparaissant, Jésus-Christ « se montre de lui-même ». Dès lors, la catégorialité de la manifestation est transcendée par ce voir et par un principe de réciprocité, « voir » et « être regardé ». Cette réciprocité est interne à la figure et la détermine comme centre et comme déploiement.

The rapture aroused by the act of seeing and the ôphthè finds its foundation in the Risen One himself appearing on Easter morning. Building upon the ôphthè , Balthasar transcends the sensory act of seeing by the fact that, in appearing, Jesus Christ “appears by himself ”. From then on, the categoriality of manifestation is transcended by this act of seeing and a principle of reciprocity, “seeing” and “being seen”. This reciprocity is internal to the figure and determines it as both center and unfolding.
