Rehashing, considered as a caricature of repetition, is part of psychoanalysts’ and patients’ everyday life to the point of weariness for both protagonists. The paper examines the very distinct dynamics of rehashing in the context of two analysis, drawing upon its various forms and functions in the work of some authors, ranging from resistance in the shape of a rehashed story to its effects in the transference.

Le ressassement, comme une caricature de la répétition, fait partie de l’ordinaire du psychanalyste et des patients, parfois jusqu’à la lassitude pour les deux protagonistes. Pourtant, de la résistance par un dire ressassé à ses destins dans le transfert, l’article évoque à propos de deux cures des dynamiques bien différentes du ressassement, en s’appuyant aussi sur ses formes et ses fonctions chez certains écrivains.
