Les Unités localisées d’inclusion scolaire (Ulis) permettent la scolarisation d’élèves en situation de handicap de l’école au lycée. Dans la majeure partie des cas, il s’agit de lycées professionnels qui leur permettent de suivre une formation professionnelle qui conduit à une certification totale (diplôme) ou partielle. L’école a cheminé du concept d’intégration à celui d’inclusion et s’efforce aujourd’hui de devenir inclusive. Le système scolaire se doit de devenir réellement universel, c’est-à-dire accessible à chacun. Il constitue le premier socle du fonctionnement d’une société plus inclusive. L’expérience de la PAIP (Plate-forme d’accompagnement à l’inclusion professionnelle) s’est construite sur le constat d’un manque d’accessibilité à l’emploi pour les jeunes ayant bénéficié de l’appui d’une Ulis et sortis des lycées professionnels. Elle est nécessaire à ce jour pour accompagner ces jeunes adultes vers l’emploi en milieu ordinaire. Elle complète les dispositifs existants avec lesquels la PAIP travaille en partenariat.
