La théologie du corps enseignée par Jean-Paul ii est quelquefois décriée. Pourtant elle se manifeste comme une tradition ancienne et nouvelle de l’amour de compassion et de communion. Une approche de type existentiel et christologique montre qu’elle consiste à consentir au cœur de notre faiblesse à l’amour du Créateur et Sauveur. La théologie du corps exprime la catholicité de notre foi. Y a-t-il en effet une parole plus concrète que celle prononcée par Dieu au cœur de notre humanité blessée ?

The theology of the body taught by John Paul ii is sometimes criticised. Yet it manifests itself as an ancient and new tradition of compassionate love and communion. An existential and Christological approach shows that it consists in consenting, at the heart of our weakness, to the love of the Creator and Saviour. The theology of the body expresses the catholicity of our faith. Is there any word more concrete than that spoken by God to the heart of our wounded humanity ?
