Cet article examine comment le souci du développement durable a été introduit dans un domaine aussi stratégique et technique à la fois, celui de la commande publique. Il examine d’une part comment un nouveau service de l’État, le service des achats de l’État, prend en compte le développement durable parmi ses critères d’action et d’autre part comment le développement durable a été incorporé dans le nouveau droit relatif aux marchés publics.

– Sustainable public purchasing : a useful instrument for the regulatory state – This article examines how the issue of sustainable development was introduced into public procurement, a field that is both so strategic and technical in nature. More particularly, it shows how a new governmental department, the State Purchasing Department, takes sustainable development into account as one of its criteria, and then how sustainable development has been incorporated into new legislation on public tenders.
