RésuméL’auteur propose une présentation de la méthode d’observation d’un bébé dans sa famille selon la méthode d’Esther Bick de façon à apporter un certain nombre de points de repères :sur le plan historique en envisageant son positionnement par rapport à l’évolution des idées en psychanalyse d’enfant ;sur le plan présent, en présentant les filiations ainsi que les diverses modalités accessibles de cette formation ;en définissant les points essentiels de la méthode située par rapport à ses objectifs ;en dégageant les apports théoriques essentiels d’Esther Bick ;en présentant une méthode de classification des diverses applications qui peuvent être faites de cette méthode dans les domaines du soin, de la prévention, de la recherche.

The author presents the method used to observe infants at home as it was developed by Esther Bick and proposes a certain number of reference points :from a historical standpoint where infant observation is seen in relationship to the evolution of ideas in child psychoanalysis ;from the present situation with its filiations as well as the various modes made possible through this training ;by defining the essential points in the method with respect to its objectives ;by stating the essential theoretical contributions made by Esther Bick ;by presenting a method of classifying the different applications of this method in the areas of treatment, prevention and research.
