The rainbow pattern was initially associated almost exclusively with Kaposi’s sarcoma. In recent years, it has been described in other inflammatory pathologies and especially tumours. We report a case of chronic palmoplantar keratoderma with a rainbow pattern on dermoscopy, in which skin biopsy revealed lichen planus. The presence of a rainbow pattern in lichen planus, especially palmoplantar lichen planus, is certainly rare, but it can sometimes be useful in the aetiological investigation and help in the positive diagnosis.

Le motif arc-en-ciel a longtemps été associé, de façon quasi exclusive, au sarcome de Kaposi. Il a cependant été décrit, au cours des dernières années, dans d’autres pathologies inflammatoires et, surtout, tumorales. Nous rapportons un cas de kératodermie palmoplantaire chronique adoptant une présentation arc-en-ciel à la dermoscopie, et dont la biopsie cutanée a révélé un lichen plan. La présence d’un motif arc-en-ciel en matière de lichen plan, surtout palmoplantaire, est rare. Son existence doit néanmoins être connue, et contribuer à l’enquête étiologique et au diagnostic positif.
