À partir d’entretiens avec trois femmes pratiquant l’allaitement maternel prolongé de manière militante, l’auteure interroge les effets du discours dominant actuel sur les rapports mère-enfant, du fait de la sexualisation de la relation qu’induit, inconsciemment, cette pratique dans la modernité occidentale. Après avoir resitué rapidement l’histoire de l’allaitement et de ses représentations sociales diverses, elle montre la dimension jouissive infantile de l’allaitement pour ces mères dans leurs rapports à l’enfant, au père de celui-ci et aux autres sociaux.

From discussions with three women practitioning the prolonged breast-feeding in a militant way, the author questions the effects of current speech dominating over the links mother-child, because of sexualization of the relation which induces, unconsciously, this practice in Western modernity. After having quickly put in perspective the history of breast feeding and its various social representations, the author shows the infantile great dimension of breast feeding for these mothers in their reports with the child, the father of this one and the other social ones.
