RésuméLe texte pose la question de l’insertion du champ de l’éducation physique dans le système de la post-graduation brésilienne, et de la pertinence de la production scientifique dans ce domaine. Le scénario d’insertion est donc par extension celui de la tentative d’obtention du statut scientifique pour l’éducation physique, au-delà du débat de la qualification. Du point de vue des procédés techniques, l’étude est une recherche empirique de la communité scientifique autour des principales tendances issues de ce milieu. La méthode de recherche est exploratrice de type qualitatif. On constate que l’éducation physique, qui devrait être caractérisée par ce qui enseigné dans le milieu académique, s’est progressivement transformée dans un champ déterminé par le domaine de la santé. On conclut qu’au Brésil, le système est subordonné aux cours des plus grandes traditions qui composent le champ de la santé.

The present text discusses the Physical Education area insertion in the post-graduation Brazilian system and the relevancy of the scientific production of the area considered for this system. The insertion scenario and the attainment attempt for Physical Education scientific status achievement are constructed, beyond the discussion from the scientific community around the main emergent trends of this scientific field. As a methodological strategy an exploring study with qualitative focus is carried through. From the technical procedures point of view, this study is a documentary research. It was found that the Physical Education, which would be characterized by what is being produced in the academic environment, was turned into what the great area of health determines. It is concluded that, in Brazil, the system is subordinated to the courses with larger tradition that composes the health area.
